THE RENAISSANCE GROUP

Join the Renaissance at Temple Shalom

Temple Shalom’s Renaissance is a group of Temple members, age 49 years and up, who join together in a wide range of social activities that always include food and fun.  We can be singles, empty nesters, grandparents or even great grandparents.

The Renaissance Group has been a very successful arm of our Temple for over 12 years.   Our members get together for new experiences, to enjoy each other’s company, and to strengthen our relationship with Temple Shalom.  As our calendar shows, we have exciting and wide-ranging events planned.  If you are not already a Renaissance member (and you are lucky enough to qualify), please join us.

Membership is just $10.00 per person for the year.   Please contact any of the co-chairs below with any questions and/or requests.

THE JEWISH AFTERLIFEand getting there gently

Most of us prefer not to contemplate our own mortality.  We do, however, like to laugh about it, listen to music about it and watch movies that do it for us.  There is no issue that stirs up as much emotion as death and dying.  Though every birth comes with a limited warranty, we often avoid such discourse until we are confronted with the inevitable.

At this intellectually stimulating presentation you will laugh, cry and ponder the meaning of life…and death.  Please take a multi-cultural, multi-media romp through death, dying and the next world with Bruce Birnberg, a medical educator who heads Stein Hospice.

  • Cost: $5 per person, but you must be a Renaissance member to attend.
  • Pay through the Temple office by credit card or by check payable to Temple Shalom.
  • Please complete and enclose your response form with your payment if paying by check.
  • RSVP no later than February 1.   (We have to know how much food to order!!)
